The book speak is turning into one of those books you can not
put down. There are so many parts of the
book that hook the reader into reading more. The part of the book speaks that
hooked the reader the most was when Melinda was telling her story of what
happen at that party. Melinda started off by first hooking the reader into
wanting to know about her story. The author did this by setting the stage in Melinda
high school. Melinda was walking around and was saying to her self how all
these people where giving her bad looks in the hall way. Also how these people
used to be her friend. So the reader felt bad for her and wanted to know what
happened to her. The reason why the author went with a sad section of the book
was to make the reader wonder why. Why is Melinda getting bad looks? Why is
Melinda have no friends? If the reader reads this section of the book they get
drawn in by all of these unanswered question the circle around Melinda. The
unanswered questions make the reader want to keep reading and find out the
answers. The author did a good job with this in my opinion because it made me
want to keep reading and find those answered.
